The Tucson Fringe Fest organizers Sara Habib and Yasmine Jahanmir are persistent. And thank goodness.

Despite a rough few years, the two have held on to the idea of a Tucson Fringe Festival, and now, in its fourth year, it’s got a big line-up and some new faces. Ten works in two venues over three days. Now that’s a reason to rejoice.

There are some familiar faces — Fish Karma, Michael Fenlason and Catfish Baruni are returning to the fest with new works — and some not seen at the fest before, such as Hilary Bluestein-Lyons and Jeanmarie Simpson.

The fest is slated for Sept. 12-14 at Fluxx and Club Congress. Check out the website, tucsonfringe.org for a complete line-up.

And while you’re there, sign up to volunteer at the event. Three days of theater with fellow theater lovers and some wonderfully strange characters (Fish Karma wouldn’t mind my saying that). Who could ask for more?
